I was a graphic designer in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Old school – doing layout and paste-up by hand with an x-acto knife and waxed galleys. I actually loved it. I left the field just as it was transitioning to computers, thinking it was a phase and wouldn’t really last long. That was one of the times I couldn’t have been more wrong.
After going back to school twenty years later to catch up with the world and learn how to use a computer, I was delighted to now be able to have so much creative freedom with typesetting and design. But I really missed working with my hands. It just happened that I turned every class project into a book-making project, finding pleasure in combining the best of both worlds.
As I work through the process of recovery, emotional healing, and spiritual growth, using the medium of creating little books as a change agent has become my greatest tool. I send them out into the universe, hoping they land in the hands of those who can benefit most.
Here’s a picture of my puppy, Wanda. I absolutely adore her!
